What Serenity is

Serenity is a personal wellness and reflection companion. It offers journaling, guided focus, and AI-supported conversation to help you process your day and build healthy habits. Serenity is designed to support your wellbeing — not to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or mental health condition.

Not a substitute for professional help

Serenity does not provide medical, psychological, psychiatric, therapeutic, or emergency services. It is not a licensed clinician, therapist, counselor, doctor, or crisis line. Nothing in the app — including AI responses — should be treated as professional advice, a clinical assessment, or a care plan.

Always seek the advice of a qualified health professional for questions about your mental or physical health. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking care because of something you read or discuss in Serenity.

If you are in crisis

Serenity is not equipped to handle emergencies. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number (such as 911 in the U.S.) right away.

In the U.S., you can also call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or text HOME to 741741 to reach the Crisis Text Line. Use local crisis resources if you are outside the U.S.

AI limitations

Serenity uses artificial intelligence (xAI Grok) to generate responses. AI can be helpful, but it can also be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your situation. AI does not know you the way a human clinician does and cannot verify facts about your health.

You are responsible for how you use AI suggestions. Do not rely on the app for decisions that require professional judgment.

Beta software

Serenity is in private beta. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice. We may reset or modify data during testing. By using the beta, you understand the app may not perform perfectly and agree to share feedback to help us improve.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for the information you share in the app and for your own wellbeing decisions. Serenity works best as a supplement to — not a replacement for — real-world support, healthy routines, and professional care when you need it.

Privacy & data

Journal entries and profile data are stored in your Serenity account (Supabase). When you connect Apple Health, sleep data is read on your device — Serenity does not sell your personal data.

AI features send conversation and journal context to xAI (Grok) to generate responses. Do not share information in the app that you are not comfortable storing or processing for this purpose.

Who may use Serenity

You must be at least 18 years old to use Serenity, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf. By continuing, you confirm you meet this requirement.

No guarantees

We do not guarantee specific outcomes from using Serenity. Wellness tools affect people differently. The app is provided "as is" during beta without warranties of any kind.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Serenity and its creators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including reliance on AI content, missed reminders, data loss, or service interruptions. Your use of the app is at your own risk.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will ask you to review and accept the updated version before continuing to use Serenity.
